John L. Palmer, a resident of Shelton, CT and formerly of Stamford, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 18, 2012. He was born August 29th, 1963 in Greenwich, CT to Jim and Linda (Urban) Palmer.
John graduated with the class of 1982 from Rippowam High School. From his teenage years, John learned the roofing trade and became self employed in the trade for over 30 years, working for customers throughout Fairfield County. John was a true free spirit and a genuinely good hearted person. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and loved to travel, especially to warm weather destinations such as California and Florida where he could enjoy the beach and the warmth of the sun.
John is survived by his loving parents, Jim and Linda (Urban) Palmer, of Shelton and former long time residents of Stamford, his son, Zachary Palmer, who is currently serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, his brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Jennifer Palmer, of Milford, and their children, Jimmy Jr. and Leea Palmer. John will be sadly missed by his family, friends and by all those who knew and loved him.
Family and friends may call on the Palmer family on Wednesday, December 26th, from 10am to 12 noon, with a funeral service beginning at 12 noon also at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, in Stamford.
